Mental health crisis pathway for Bedfordshire and Luton

Sometimes people can be in a mental health crisis or need urgent support. It may be due to thoughts of harming themselves or others, or suicidal thoughts, or it may be that the symptoms of mental ill health are making it difficult to manage and support is needed very quickly.

If you are known to a mental health team and it is Monday-Friday 9am–5pm please call that team on the usual number for support and advice.

If you are not known to services and/ or it is out of hours, there is support available.

Here you can speak to a mental health professional who will direct you to the appropriate team for your needs.

  • Houghton Regis Crisis Café - Townsend Court, Mayer Way, Houghton Regis, LU5 5BF (5-11pm Saturday to Wednesday)
  • Biggleswade Crisis Café - The Lawns Resource Centre, The Baulk, Biggleswade, SG18 0PT (5:30-11pm Thursday and Friday)

  Mind Young Person Sanctuary
Available seven days a week, from 4-10pm in Luton and Bedford to support young people aged 14-17 in crisis.
